Sixteenth Century Wire Frame Headdresses (work in progress by Jeanette Sendler)

Explore the history of sixteenth century headgear, both in Britain and in Europe, with world famous hatter Jane Smith. You will learn to construct wire frame headdresses as drawn by Hans Holbein at the court of Henry VIII. Using wire together with buckram as a base, you will cover your authentic headpiece using fine fabrics such as damask and taffeta, and period pleated linen or cotton as a trim.
