There will also be individual tutorials with James, where he will offer guidance to help you on your personal exploration.

This class is suitable for beginners or those wishing to develop their skills.

There is a £4 per person charge for materials.

About the tutor

James has had a long career as an embroidery and surface designer, and latterly as an educator on FE and HE courses. He uses mark-making, colour and texture in his work to represent real or imaginary moments of time. And hopes to awaken half-forgotten associations in the viewer’s memory, or emotions, desires and thoughts that may have been barely acknowledged or captured. He is currently exploring the ubiquity of cloth in daily life in terms of function, decoration, and sensuality.
