This Summer Millinery School will give you a comprehensive introduction to traditional millinery tools and techniques, but with a contemporary, freeform approach to design. You will sample a range of media, and will learn how to block sinamay, felt and buckram, and how to wire, cover and trim your hats, focusing especially on traditional trimming, using petersham, feathers and straw. You will then choose which you would prefer to use for your final two hats, based on your own designs. These might include a theatrical hat, an everyday hat or perhaps a hat for that special occasion.

We guarantee a small class size with lots of individual tuition to help you realise your design ideas.

The class fee includes all basic materials.

You will need basic hand sewing skills for this workshop.

This class takes place at Hat in the Cat, Bridgend, Perth.
