In this masterclass, you’ll use felt to construct a wall-hanging or free-standing object that is intended to be lit up from beyond – either behind or below.

Taking inspiration from Charlotte’s architectural pieces, and from your own research, you will develop three-dimensional structures on the front and back of a felted panel. When the panel is lit from underneath or behind, the hidden details embedded within the surface construction will be revealed, and take on a spectacular, almost X-ray-like appearance.

Charlotte will work one-to-one with each student to understand what they wish to achieve, and will introduce a wide variety of surface techniques, supporting you as you go on to explore how to apply these techniques to the panel.

This class is aimed at the more-experienced felt-maker looking to expand their practice.
