At Big Cat Textiles we take your privacy and security very seriously. Our policy in regard to these matters is set out below.


The Big Cat Textiles website doesn’t store any first party cookies in your browser. We do make use of the Vimeo embedded video player to allow us to play Big Cat films on the website. By watching any of our films you consent to the placement and use of cookies and similar technologies from Vimeo on your device.

Your personal information

We do not store any of your personal information on our website. Any information you send us by phone or email or other electronic means in relation to your participation in Big Cat Textiles Masterclasses is stored on one password-protected computer and is used solely for the purpose of facilitating your participation in your chosen classes. At Big Cat Textiles and our sister organisation Hat in the Cat we pride ourselves on our self-sufficiency, and we do not share this information with any other party for the purposes of advertising or marketing or for any other purpose whatsoever.

Payment for our classes

We do not require you to supply sensitive personal or financial information on this website when paying for your classes. We accept payment by three methods – cheque, electronic bank transfer or secure payment by debit or credit card over the phone – which you can choose between by the submission of an electronic form in which you supply your basic contact details.


By requesting to be put on our mailing list you are consenting to secure storage of your details in the mailing list app Mailchimp. We use this app solely for the purpose of sending out our occasional Big Cat Textiles newsletters, and do not share the information in it with any other party. You can request removal from the mailing list at any time, either in response to a mailing or by sending an email to

Social Media

Big Cat Textiles and Hat in the Cat have a presence on Facebook, Instagram and Pinterest. We adhere strictly to the terms and conditions of all these platforms and expect users who follow us to do the same, but we cannot take responsibility for any shortfall in this respect on the part of any user.

The Big Cat Community

Big Cat Textiles and Hat in the Cat have been operating since 2008, and many of the people who have attended our classes are regular returners who form friendships both with each other and with members of the team. This is a major contribution to the enjoyment of the Big Cat experience, but the rules of common sense should apply to the sharing of your personal information with anyone you become acquainted with through Big Cat Textiles or Hat in the Cat, and we cannot take any responsibility for any consequences arising therefrom.
